Walton began as a trading company before moving into manufacturing electronics and home appliances domestically, building factories to produce refrigerators, air conditioners, and consumer electronics for the Bangladeshi market at a time when the country relied heavily on imports for such goods, and grew into the dominant domestic electronics and appliance manufacturer.
